Michele Swan, Founder of Azany Group and creator of the My Island Visa (MIV) Card, applauded Guyanese President Irfaan Ali’s commitment to economic growth.
Swan’s commendation came following a town hall meet-and-greet held on the evening of September 24, 2026, at the Jericho Palace Banquet Hall. The event brought together members of the Guyanese diaspora, government officials, and private sector innovators to discuss strategies for accelerating inclusive growth back home across key sectors including agriculture, tourism, and the digital economy. Swan, whose fintech ventures have positioned Azany Group as a growing player in Caribbean and African financial technology, used the opportunity to reaffirm the company’s interest in supporting Guyana’s development agenda.
Reflecting on the meeting, Swan in a social media post pointed to the President’s clear, action-oriented approach to national growth. “What struck me most was the President’s clarity of vision — real, tangible commitment to growing the local economy by empowering entrepreneurs and upskilling citizens, not just talking about it,” she said.
She also highlighted the breadth of opportunity across Guyana’s economy. “From agriculture to tourism to the digital economy, Guyana is sitting on extraordinary opportunity, and it’s being matched with the political will to unlock it,” Swan noted.
