The presidency has again reacted to the mayhem unleashed by the Fulani herdsmen in Benue State.
In a newly released video, the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina lamented the public outcry, blaming the state’s massacre on the president.
According to Adesina, linking the killings to the president is unkind. He stressed that the herdsmen have been killing before the president assumed office in 2015.
In one minute video, Adesina said, “Something that is disturbing that I have heard about, is linking those developments to the fact that a Fulani man is the president. And so, he is brooking such kind of immoral act. That is very unkind.
“I will try to back my position with statistics. In 2013 particularly, there were nine cases of herdsmen invading communities in Benue state alone, and more than 190 people were killed. In 2014, there were sixteen of such tragic development, with more than 221 people killed.”
