Police arrest suspected killers of Catholic priest in Imo

The CP had ordered the arrest of the fleeing suspects after Egbom was killed.

The Imo State Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi, on Thursday, said the suspected murderers of Reverend Father Jude Egbom of St Patrick’s Catholic church, Amucha, have been arrested.

Egbom was shot dead and his vehicle stolen, on Monday night, along Nkwerre-Anara Road.

Galandachi identified the suspects as 21-year-old Peter Ochokwu and 33-year-old Chigozie Uzoukwu. They were arrested Nkwerre on Tuesday, September 11.

The CP had ordered the arrest of the fleeing suspects after Egbom was killed. He said that the priest’s vehicle and travelling bag were also recovered.

One of the arrested suspects confessed that he had previously spent one year in jail over an alleged arm robbery case.
