PResident Muhammadu Buhari, during a meeting with some Nigerians in the diaspora who paid him a visit at his London residence, described many top personalities in the country as “wicked” people.
Buhari said these unnamed persons are hellbent on looting the country dry.
“Among the elites, there are really wicked people. This has kept Nigeria very poor,” he said.
Buhari also seemed to admit in the interview that his administration’s fight against corruption was almost a lost battle.
The president had earlier met with the British Prime Minister, Theresa May in London, where he made known how committed he was to reviving the country’s economy and fight against corruption.
