WATCH: Pickpocket nabbed, nearly lynched to death in Lagos

The pickpocket was said to have stolen N7000 from one Adediwura Aderibigbe.

A suspected pickpocket was on Monday nabbed in Lekki-Epe Expressway, after he allegedly stole from a man identified as Adediwura Aderibigbe, who was heading to his office in the morning.

According to Aderibigbe, the incident happened about 7:00am.

Aderibigbe said he was carried away while replying a message on his phone when he noticed some strange steps behind him.

“I was at it when I noticed some strange infringement on the bag which resulted in an unusual movement. As I looked back to check, I sighted this black, unkempt guy. The zipper was open and other smaller denomination of cash scattered on the ground. The N7000 was gone. As I challenged the guy, he also confronted me and quickly crossed the highway,” Aderibigbe added.

Aderibigbe said the suspect was given a hot chase with the help of some security personnel, and was later apprehended him at Marwa Round About, where he was given the beating of his life.

The suspect was said to have denied picking any money, but later confessed when the missing money was found in his underwear.
